Our Mission:
St. Paul’s Elementary School is a Catholic School which is centred on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to provide an educational environment within our school, and our community in which all students experience growth and success academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our Values and Visions:
- Academic Excellence: St. Paul’s School staff and students will strive for academic excellence in all educational disciplines.
- Quality Catholic Education: Each student will have the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with God and the Church and an understanding of religious tradition and doctrine. All students will actively participate in the community of faith.
- Safe and Respectful Environment: A school community consists of students, staff, and parents or guardians. All members of the St. Paul’s School community will work together to promote a respectful environment which is safe, loving, and caring, reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- Acceptance and Awareness of Individual Differences: Students and staff of St. Paul’s School will recognize, accept, and support the individual uniqueness, abilities, and interests of each other as created by God.
- Self- Pride and Moral Consciousness: St. Paul’s students will develop a sense of self-awareness and accountability, thus enabling decision making on moral values.

Classroom teachers may request to collaborate with the Resource Teacher to assess and meet the special needs of a student. Together with parents, we make decisions to provide students with the support they need to be successful.
The most rewarding setting in which to meet the special needs of students is the regular classroom; however, we have found that some types of programs and support service can better be delivered outside of the classroom. The Resource Program for a given student may include having the Resource Teacher or an assistant provide help in the classroom or the student may visit the Resource Teacher in a small group setting.
A student may be referred to our Shared Services if we feel that an assessment by the Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and/or Speech and Language Pathologist is needed. Our speech programming is supported by a shared Coordinator, who provides a more frequent and concentrated intervention for students.
St. Paul's School has access to the services of a School Social Worker, who is part of our educational team. The School Social Worker meets with a referred student to enhance the student’s overall social, emotional, spiritual, behavioural and adaptive functioning at school. A referral may be made by a staff member or a parent/guardian or a student may request to visit with the School Counsellor. |
